Live music by D'Vaughn Pershing
Dine and dance to one of the finest entertainers in Missouri, right here at the Country Club Hotel & Spa! We invite you to come and listen to D'Vaughn Pershing play from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. every Friday and Saturday night in the Country Club Restaurant & Lounge. D'Vaughn is an amazingly talented and versatile musician, and has played piano here many times in the past with Lynn Zimmer & the Jazz Band.
Since 1995, D’Vaughn has been playing and conducting for Andy Williams at the Moon River Theatre in Branson. He was also a member of “The Original Comets” and had fun playing rock and roll music in the New Dick Clark Theatre Complex and Museum.
D’Vaughn got his start by performing on television shows in New York for Ed Sullivan, Milton Berle, Jack Benny, and many others. While in New York, D’Vaughn studied with jazz pianist Teddy Wilson in Harlem. Soon after, he became involved in rock opera. He conducted and played for such operas as Jesus Christ Superstar at the Universal Amphitheatre, Hair and Tommy at the Aquarius Theatre, and Rocky Horror Show at the Roxy Theatre in Hollywood and the Belasco Theatre in Manhattan. He was also the musical director and pianist for the original Roxy cast recording of the Rocky Horror Show.
D’Vaughn’s career turned into composing, conducting, and playing music on various television shows for Dick Van Dyke, Redd Foxx, Cher, Donnie and Marie Osmond, Bette Midler, The Manhattan Transfer, Dianna Ross, Motown Specials, Academy Awards, and People’s Choice Awards. D’Vaughn composed music for shows such as "Gimme a Break", "Fame", "Matlock", "Eight Is Enough", and was nominated for an Emmy for his work on "Moonlighting". He played piano and conducted for various stars on the touring circuits such as Andy Williams, Nell Carter, Rita Moreno, Vikki Carr and Doug Henning, and has conducted thirty-one symphony orchestras.
