The “Granddaddy of Gospel Sings,” the Brumley Gospel Sing honors the late Albert E. Brumley, a Missouri native who wrote more than 800 songs including “Turn Your Radio On” and “I’ll Fly Away,” which was featured in the Academy-Award-nominated films, “O Brother Where Art Thou” and “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.” Brumley’s songs have been recorded by Elvis Presley, Alan Jackson, the Oak Ridge Boys and the Boston Pops. Brumley has been inducted into numerous prestigious music Halls of Fame.
“We hit a home run when we moved the Gospel Sing to Lebanon five years ago. Truly it’s a match made in heaven. Area businesses roll out the red carpet and hang welcome signs all over the place,” Garren says. “All the parties involved in Lebanon help make the event the amazing success that it is.” He adds, “We invite everyone to come enjoy four days of the best gospel music in the world in beautiful Lebanon, Missouri.”
